About Amboseli National Park
Located in southern Kenya, Amboseli National Park is one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations, famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above vast open plains. The park’s dramatic landscapes and large elephant herds walking beneath Africa’s highest mountain create one of the most photographed safari scenes in the world.
Covering diverse habitats of savannah, wetlands, and woodlands, Amboseli is sustained by an underground water system flowing from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow. These permanent swamps provide a vital source of water, supporting large populations of elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and over 400 bird species throughout the year.

Best Time to Visit
The best time for an Amboseli safari is during the dry seasons from June to October and January to February, when wildlife gathers around water sources and views of Mount Kilimanjaro are often clearer.
How to Reach
Amboseli can be reached by road from Nairobi or Mombasa, or by scheduled and charter flights to Amboseli airstrip, followed by a short transfer to your lodge.
The Great Migration
The migration follows a clockwise route: calving in the southern plains (Jan–Mar), moving northwest toward Grumeti River (May–Jul), crossing the Mara River into Kenya (Jul–Oct), and returning south (Nov–Dec).
