9 Days Signature Tanzania Safari

Comfort tier:

A nine-day, fully tailored journey through the heart of northern Tanzania — designed for travellers who want the very best of the bush at an unhurried pace. From a welcome at Kilimanjaro Airport to flagship Wilderness camps in the Serengeti and on the Ngorongoro rim, every transition is private, every afternoon protects time to relax, and every game drive is led by a senior guide who knows these parks intimately. The journey closes gently at Kiligolf, where coffee plantations and Kilimanjaro views replace the dust of the safari road.

What makes this journey unforgettable

Your journey, day by day

1

Arrival — Arusha

Your journey begins the moment you step off flight, landing at Kilimanjaro International morning or noon hours. Our VIP Meet & Greet team is waiting airside to fast-track you through immigration and baggage, then escort you to a private vehicle for the scenic one-hour drive to Arusha. You’ll arrive at the Lodge — a colonial coffee-estate retreat of private garden cottages — in time for a long breakfast, a swim and a slow afternoon to recover from the flight. In the evening your guide joins you for a relaxed welcome briefing over dinner.

2

Tarangire to Serengeti via Ngorongoro

A relaxed 08:00 pick-up after breakfast and a scenic three-hour drive south-west to Tarangire National Park, game-driving as you enter. Tarangire’s signature giant baobabs and the dry-season concentrations of elephant are among the most photogenic in Africa. You’ll arrive at Lemala Mpingo Ridge — perched above the Tarangire River — in time for a long lunch and an afternoon at leisure: a swim, a quiet rest on your private deck, or a sundowner watching elephants come down to drink.

3

Tarangire to Serengeti via Ngorongoro

An early morning game drive in Tarangire while the bush is alive, then we set off north-west, climbing onto the Ngorongoro Highlands. Lunch is a relaxed stop at Melia Ngorongoro, perched on the crater rim with sweeping views of the caldera below. From there we descend onto the Serengeti plains, game-driving the whole way to camp — a memorable, slow afternoon of plains game, lion and the dramatic Seronera landscape. You arrive at Wilderness Usawa Serengeti in the late afternoon for a hot shower, a fireside drink and dinner under the stars.

4

Serengeti — Full Day at Leisure

A long morning game drive in the Seronera Valley — prime country for lion, leopard and cheetah — returning to camp for a leisurely lunch and a proper midday rest while the bush sleeps. In the afternoon the choice is entirely yours: head out again for a golden-hour drive in search of the cats, or stay at camp and enjoy the deck, the pool and the rhythm of the plains. Dinner around the fire under one of the great African night skies.

5

Serengeti — Your Day, Your Pace

A second full Serengeti day, shaped around what you most want to see. Many guests opt for a sunrise drive with a packed breakfast for the best big-cat sightings, return to camp for lunch and a swim, then head out again in the golden afternoon light. Others choose to slow right down — long brunch, a nap, an in-camp bush walk with an armed guide, or simply quiet hours on the deck. Your guide is yours; the day is yours.

6

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

A final game-driving morning across the Serengeti as we make our way south-east towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. We aim to reach the lodge in time for lunch — but the camp also packs you generous bush picnics in case the wildlife slows us down, as it often does. The afternoon is at leisure at Wilderness Crater’s Edge, perched on the rim of the caldera with one of the most extraordinary views in Africa. Settle in, rest, and watch the light change across the crater floor below.

7

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive

A very early start as we descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater — a collapsed volcanic caldera that holds one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on Earth. Over a long morning your guide searches the crater floor for the elusive black rhino, resident lion prides, hippo, buffalo and elephant. We climb back to the rim for a late lunch at the lodge, and the rest of the afternoon is yours to unwind — a spa treatment, a quiet read by the fire, or simply the view.

8

Crater to Kiligolf

An early breakfast and a scenic drive east through the Crater Highlands and back across the rift, arriving at Kiligolf — a quiet country estate between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro — in time for lunch at the lodge. You’re checked into Laba Laba Mama Simba, a beautifully relaxed retreat surrounded by gardens and golf greens. The rest of the day is yours: a swim, a round of golf, a walk in the gardens, or simply time to sit, rest and let the safari settle in.
