What this collection feels like
Manyara’s Secret is a small, private lodge in Mto wa Mbu, overlooking Lake Manyara and the surrounding landscape. We use it for guests who want a quieter place to relax between safari days, while still being close to Lake Manyara, Tarangire and the Ngorongoro area.
What we like about this lodge is the feeling of space and privacy. The villas are designed for a peaceful stay, with views towards the lake, private pools and outdoor showers. After a long day in the bush, it gives you time to slow down, enjoy the view and simply be in Tanzania without rushing to the next activity.
The Lodge Room

The rooms are comfortable and en-suite, with a private terrace and views towards Lake Manyara. Depending on your booking, you can stay in a private villa for two or choose a larger villa for families or groups. Private plunge pools are also available with the villas.

The lodge is designed around privacy and relaxation. You can cool off in your private pool, enjoy the terrace, or take an outdoor shower while looking across the surrounding landscape. There is also a swimming pool and space to relax around the lodge.

Meals are prepared at the lodge with a choice of international and European dishes, including options for vegetarian and vegan guests. The setting is relaxed, and you can enjoy your meal while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

There is a bar at the lodge, making it easy to enjoy a cold drink, coffee or an evening drink after your safari. For us, this is part of the experience—coming back from the bush, sitting outside and watching the light change over Lake Manyara.

Wi-Fi is available at the lodge, including free Wi-Fi in the public areas. We still encourage our guests to use the stay as a chance to disconnect a little, enjoy the views and experience the quiet side of safari.
